Flittabus Community Transport Ltd (Flittabus) , is a non profit making origination solely created to provide scheduled route services, excursions and private hire to members of the public in Flitwick and surrounding area.
Pursuant with these activities Flittabus collects data and images relating to the above services. In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Flittabus is required to provide a statement about such data The following Privacy statement explains what and why such data is recorded and retained.
Personal data collected
The personal data we collect from the public is for two specific and separate purposes
- Mailing list – Where members of the public have chosen to be notified of future events The mailing list information is limited to Name and e-mail address only.
- Excursions or private hire trips where Name, address, telephone number and e-mail for passengers on trips are recorded . Additionally the organiser of the private hire may also be recorded if the are not a passenger.
- No personal information is collected or stored relating to the scheduled services
Personal Data – Reason for data collection and retention
Should your name be on the mailing list the information is solely used to contact you on matters relating to Flittabus and will be of 2 types of notification.
- coming excursions provided by Flittabus
- changes to bus timetables, this could include modification to timetables and routes or cancelation of services caused by weather , breakdowns etc
Members of the public on the mailing list have provided consent by entering their name and e-mail on the website or contacting Flittabus requesting to be added . Mailing list information will be held until either.
- You request the deletion of your information from the site.
- At 2 yearly intervals Flittabus will send out mails to all people on the mailing list asking them to confirm they still require the service.
Personal data with respect to excursions and private hire are solely used to facilitate the execution of the contract , i.e pick up from and return to the address recorded. Data associated with excursions and private hire will be deleted from the system 30 days after the date of the excursion
Other data recorded
In addition to the personal data above Flittabus also record images, photographs, of excursions. These are published on the website and stored in the archive. Flittabus pursuant with its core activities has a legitimate interest in publishing such data so as to highlight past activities and assist with advertising future excursions.
It is a Flittabus policy is that at the commencement of an excursion all passengers are notified that such photography will take place and the reasons for the image collection. Any Passenger has a right not to be present during the photo shoot.
The images are retained on the website for up to 3 years, but after that some may be retained as part of the archive.

Data sharing with 3rd parties
Generally Flittabus does not share any information with 3rd parties, the sole exception to this is where an attraction relating to excursions and private hire requires passenger names. Where this is the case passengers on the excursion will contacted to confirm their agreement with sharing such information.
